Eat Smarter This Thanksgiving

How we can maintain our diets this Thanksgiving.

If you are on a diet, then Thanksgiving posts a real threat.   This is because it is incredibly difficult to resist the temptation of all the rich and delicious holiday foods.   However, maintaining your diet isn't impossible.   Here are some of the suggestions that you should try to control yourself this Thanksgiving.
  • Eat Ahead of Time

Many people fast all day in preparation for their Thanksgiving dinner.   However, when you are that hungry, it makes it more difficult to control what and how much you are eating.   Rather than setting yourself up for failure, eat a healthy and balanced meal before your Thanksgiving dinner.   This way, you will have a much easier time moderating what you eat.
  • Use a Smaller Plate

When we serve ourselves food, we tend to take too much when our plates are large.   This often results in overeating.   Using a smaller dinner plate will help with portion control.   According to researchers from Cornell University, a 30% reduction in plate size leads to an average 30%  reduction in food consumption.
  • Load Up on Fresh Produce

While you may be tempted to load up on the mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy, it's always better to pile up on the fresh fruits and vegetables.   For instance, make sure at least one-third of your plate consists of a fresh salad, crudité, or items off the fruit platter.   When you eat fresh produce, you are getting plenty of good vitamins and minerals without having to worry about unhealthy additives like butter, sugar, and salt. These are some of the suggestions that you should try to eat healthier this Thanksgiving.   Are you looking for assistance with your delivery needs this holiday?   If so, then turn to the experts at MDS, Inc.   Located in Southern California, we're your custom courier & mail delivery service experts for all your  mail and delivery  needs in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Irvine, and Orange County.  Contact us  for more information today.
