Go Green This National Garden Month

Learn how you can be more eco-friendly this April.

Not only is April National Garden Month, but Earth Day is also April 22nd.   This means that this month is the perfect time to go green!   Not sure where you should start on your quest to save the planet?   Here are some easy suggestions to help you become more environmentally-friendly. Save Water Though the majority of our planet is covered in water, there is only a limited amount of fresh water available for our use.   This is why everyone should make a conscious effort to conserve this precious resource.   Luckily, there are many little things you can do to conserve water.   For instance, shortening your showers, upgrading to water-efficient appliances, and adjusting your home's sprinkler settings are all easy ways to use less water. Plant a Tree One of the traditional ways to go green is by planting a tree.   However, there's a reason why this is such a long-standing tradition.   Not only does planting a tree send a symbolic message to stop deforestation, but planting a tree helps improve air quality.   While this might seem like a very minor act, it's a great reminder that the biggest changes can start small. Start Composting Every year, Americans contribute millions of pounds of waste to landfills across the country.   However, much of this waste is actually compostable and can be repurposed as fertilizer for your garden.   In honor of National Garden Month, learn how you can start composting.   Not only will this make your garden thrive, but it will also help the planet.
