How Can You Reduce Your Stress?
Concentration on work or routine activities can be challenging if you are stressed, sad, or anxious. Practicing some of these following mindfulness activities will help reduce your stress, enabling healthier and happier lives. Play the Name Game This game is a useful tool to contain spiraling thoughts. Just look around and name the three things you can hear, two things you can see, and one emotion or sensation you feel. This action will help increase your awareness of your surroundings. Deep Breathing Exercise The duration and quality of your breathing determine whether you are stressed. If you are anxious or stressed, your breathing will be short, constrained, or shallow. Practicing deep breathing will help get rid of your stress. Do breathing exercises whenever you feel disturbed, distracted, or dumped with a mix of emotions. Take the Berry Challenge When you are stressed or disturbed, you may gobble your food, and as a result, experience indigestion, bloating, or overeat. To avoid this, you can take the berry challenge. That is, try to eat a strawberry as slowly as possible. Doing so will help you slow down when having your meal. The Wiggle and Freeze Game Play this game either with your kids or friends. You and the other players need to dance, bounce around, or wiggle until you say freeze. After that, take a moment to notice what you can feel in your body, including buzzing, shaking, heat, etc. This game will keep you both physically active and mentally light. Introspection Exercise Sit silently for a few minutes and observe your current mindset and emotions. Such introspection will help you know yourself and identify those thoughts that often cross your mind. The Sound Game Identify 10 different sounds that you can hear. This game will subtly shift your concentration from the thought that is disturbing or distracting you. Morning Pages Right after you wake up, take your journal and write down three pages of anything that comes to your mind. Doing so will help you to understand your mental processes better. These tips will help you reduce your stress. Contact MDS Inc. for all your mail and delivery needs and get the peace of mind.
