AB 1843 €“ Applicants for Employment: Criminal History.
This bill prohibits employers from asking job candidates about any involvement in the juvenile justice system as long as their involvement did not result in a conviction. Come March 1, 2017, all single occupancy restrooms must be designated as gender neutral. Under Measure AB 1732, businesses and public buildings are required to designate these restrooms. This law furthers a 2013 law that allows students to use facilities and participate in activities that correlate with their gender identity. Under new California law, the minimum smoking age has been raised to age 21. However, updates to existing smoking laws equate vaporizers and traditional tobacco products with that or regular tobacco products.
