Trends in California Gas Prices

What should California drivers expect from future gas prices?

So far, 2019 has seen the highest increase in California gas prices in about eight years.   In April and early May, prices peaked at well over $4 throughout the state.   California has traditionally had the highest gas prices out of any state in the U.S.   For instance, while the national average for gas is about $2.86 per gallon, California's recent average hovered around $4.07 per gallon. Fortunately, prices began to drop around Memorial Day weekend, falling below the $4 mark in many places throughout the state.   Experts are cautiously optimistic about the decrease, stating that gas prices will likely remain under $4 for the rest of summer. However, it is important to note that gas prices are affected by a myriad of factors, so it is not always possible to make accurate predictions.   For instance, Chinese tariffs, weather, and changes in demand are just a few of the things that can cause major fluctuations in gas prices. Another concern is California's recently enacted gasoline tax.   On July 1st, the tax on gas increased by 5.6 cents, making California the state with the second highest gas tax.   While experts cannot say with certainty how big of an impact the tax will have, it's safe to assume that drivers will see higher prices at the pump. These are some of the gas price trends that California drivers should anticipate.   Are you looking for assistance with your California shipping needs?   If so, then turn to the experts at MDS, Inc.   Located in Southern California, we're your custom courier & mail delivery service experts for all your mail and delivery needs in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Irvine, and Orange County.
